micro:Bit Wind Meter.Build your own Wind Speed Meter.
Parts: Old fidget spinner a reed switch and small magnet some small wood sticks and cardboard to make the vanes. A bit of micro:Bit code The PDF below, is a full DIY tutorial on how to build the wind speed indicator with a micro:bit If you do not have a Sparkfun Weatherbit, you can just hook up the micro:bit with two aligator clips attached to the reed switch and then one to Pin 0 on the micro:bit and the other on the +3V pin. Then define a serial pin connection in your sketch to read the voltage spike as a 'click'. Use the radius of the weather vanes (tongue depressors in this case) in some circle calculations to determine the speed. Basically, 2*Pi*radius / time gives you the speed. You just then convert the speed in m/s to kilometres / hour if you wish.
